These are typical ranges we put together from the same recruiting sources behind our college UTR guide — guideposts, not grades. Kids grow at wildly different speeds, late bloomers are everywhere in college tennis, and one number never tells the whole story.

Where this goes, by the numbers

By senior year, most recruited players land in these typical ranges: D1 boys 10.0–14.0 and girls 8.0–12.0 (depending on the tier), D2 boys 9.0–11.5 / girls 6.5–9.5, D3 boys 8.0–11.5 / girls 5.5–9.0, NAIA boys 9.0–12.0 / girls 5.5–9.0, JUCO boys 6.5–10.0 / girls 4.5–7.5 (JUCO estimated). There is a level of college tennis for almost every serious junior — the job is matching the plan to the number, not chasing someone else's number.
